If you enjoy the beauty of Yosemite National Park and would like to help support the park, consider volunteering some time to work as a docent in the Yosemite Association's store at Fresno Yosemite International Airport.
"Our mission is to educate the public about Yosemite and promote stewardship toward the park," says Beth Pratt, the association's vice president.
"The Fresno Airport Center provides us with important outreach to the local communities and helps us fulfill that mission. Being a nonprofit, we cannot afford to operate the store unless we use volunteers."
Volunteers receive a free annual park pass and an association membership.
The details:
What would I do? Volunteers assist visitors in planning trips to the park and sell educational materials to customers.
What background do I need? Volunteers must like interacting with people. Some cash-handling experience and park knowledge are preferred, but are not required. Training will be provided.
What is my time commitment? Flexible, but four-hour shifts are preferred.
How do I volunteer?
