LOST AND FOUND

How do I help a visitor find a lost item?

How do I help a visitor find a lost item?

NPS and YCS each have separate Lost & Found offices. Visitors reporting a lost item should complete a Lost & Found Report at both a NPS visitor center or information station and at a YCS lodging front desk. Give visitors the phone numbers of both offices for future contact:

  • NPS Lost & Found at (209) 379-1001
  • YCS Lost & Found at (209) 372-4357

What should I do with this found item?

All visitors reporting a found item should take it to a park visitor center or information station. Rangers will take the item and complete a Lost & Found Report. The item will then get routed to the NPS Lost & Found Office. A similar procedure will be followed at YCS lodging front desks.
