Where can I buy gas, propane, or diesel fuel?

  • Gasoline is available year-round in El Portal, Crane Flat and Wawona. Seasonally available in Tuolumne Meadows. No gasoline is available in Yosemite Valley.
  • Propane is available year-round in El Portal, Yosemite Valley and Wawona. Seasonally available in Tuolumne Meadows.
  • Diesel fuel is available year-round in El Portal, Wawona, and Crane Flat.

What if I run out of gas?

Emergency fuel and towing service is provided by YCS by calling (209)372-1001. American Automobile Association (AAA) members should call the emergency phone number listed on the member's card. AAA will then contact YCS for emergency services.

Where can I rent a stroller or wheelchair?

  • Strollers are rented at Yosemite Lodge and Curry Village bike stands.
  • Wheelchairs are rented in Yosemite Valley at the Medical Clinic, Yosemite Lodge and Curry Village.

Where are public showers?

Public showers are available for a fee year-round at Curry Village. Housekeeping Camp, Tuolumne Meadows Lodge and White Wolf Lodge have public showers for a fee in summer with restricted hours. The fee includes use of a towel and soap. No public showers are available in Wawona.

Where is a public laundromat?

There is a laundromat at Housekeeping Camp in Yosemite Valley.

Where is a post office?

The park's main post office is open year-round and located in Yosemite Village. Smaller year-round post offices operate at Yosemite Lodge, Wawona Store and in El Portal. Seasonal post offices operate at Curry Village and Tuolumne Meadows.

Where are storage lockers?

Coin-operated public lockers are located at Curry Village on the west side of the registration office. Items cannot be held at visitor centers. The Yosemite Lodge Bellman's room at (209) 372-1274 will often take an item for the day only.

Bear-proof food storage lockers are located in all campgrounds, parking areas, and trailheads.

Where can I find a bank?

There is no full-service bank in the park. There is a Bank of America Versateller ATM and YCS Cashier's Office located in Yosemite Village next to the Village Store. There are also ATM's inside the Village Store and Yosemite Lodge.

How can I cash a check or exchange foreign currency?

Personal checks may be cashed at the YCS Cashier's Office, located near the Village Store, with the following conditions:

  • Picture ID and major credit card or check-guarantee card required.
  • No two-party checks.
  • $5 fee, $100 limit per day.
  • Guests of park lodging facilities may cash checks at front desks. The fee is waived for checks up to $50/day.

Cash advances on credit cards (Visa, Mastercard & Discover) are handled on a prorated fee basis. Foreign currency exchanges are not available in the park.

Where can I find a photocopy machine?

Yosemite Lodge, The Ahwahnee and Curry Village all make photocopies at 10 cents a copy.

Where can I send/receive a FAX?

FAXs can be sent and received through Yosemite Lodge, The Ahwahnee or Curry Village.

Where can I send/receive email?

Email and internet access are available at the Girl's Club Public Library. Access is limited because the library is open limited hours, there are only a few computers, and time on them must be reserved. See list of library hours posted on bulletin board in Valley Visitor Center.
