The Arts in Yosemite
Art has long been an element of Yosemite National Park, starting with the First People whose varied cultural expressions are still alive and sacred and admired today. Thomas Ayers sketched the first landscapes and has been followed by greats like Bierstadt, Hill, Obata, Adams, Otwell and more. Yosemite Association proudly supports active arts programs at the:

Yosemite Outdoor Adventures features many art and photography courses
Yosemite Art and Education Center
Art workshops are held Tuesday-Saturday, from 10 a.m. - 2p.m. through October 17. Suggested Donation of $5.

Yosemite Theatre
Yosemite Theatre offers a variety of live programs that bring the Park’s history, people and landscapes to life. Programs are offered seven nights per week at 7:00 p.m. from May-September in the Yosemite Theater, located behind the Valley Visitors Center. Tickets available through at the Yosemite Association Store at the Visitors Center and at Tour & Activity Desks. Show dates are subject to change. Sundays: This is America, a film by Ken Burns
This is America chronicles the diversity of National Park pioneers whose passion and commitment created and expanded the purpose of National Parks. Ranger Shelton Johnson is featured, along with George Melendez Wright, and many others. Ranger Johnson speaks about his role in Ken Burns' masterpiece The National Parks:America’s Best Idea, working with Ken Burns and Dayton Duncan, and leads a discussion with the audience of topics of interest to them.
Mondays: Vintage Songs of Yosemite with Yosemite entertainer Tom Bopp
A colorful, musical gift from Yosemite’s past. Yosemite entertainer Tom Bopp’s live multi-media performance brings to life 100 years of the Yosemite Experience with archival films, rare photos, vintage music and stories, and a spine-tingling re-creation of Yosemite’s Fire Fall.
Tuesdays: Conversation With a Tramp
John Muir's dramatic battle for Yosemite's Hetch Hetchy Valley - packed with humor, wisdom and wild adventures!Presented by actor Lee Stetson, whose vibrant portrayal of John Muir has enthralled Yosemite visitors for the past 28 years.
Wednesdays: John Muir Among the Animals
Encounters with Yosemite bears, rattlesnakes, and more, plus the best dog adventure ever - the story of Stickeen.
Presented by Lee Stetson.
Thursdays: The Spirit of John Muir
In "The Spirit of John Muir”, Stetson delights audiences with tales of Muir's most thrilling wild adventures.
Fridays and Saturdays; Return to Balance: A Climber’s Journey
Stunning photography of Yosemite and amazing rock climbing shots in a high definition film that has been featured on PBS. After the film, Yosemite climber Ron Kauk appears in person to share his view of the vertical world and present rock climbing as a way of life.
